Two Sprouts Donates $3000 in cards to Soldier’s Angels
New Orleans, November 21, 2008—Two Sprouts has been around the block for a holiday or two. And with that, the stationery and invitation company unveils new designs each year. The Two Sprouts have often wondered what to do with the remainder of the cards from a previous year.
This year, they have found something. Two Sprouts has donated over $2,000 worth of holiday cards to Soldiers’ Angels. The non-profit plans to send the cards to troops overseas so that they may send something home this holiday season.
“We know what joy a holiday card can bring. You can’t help but smile when you see the envelope with your name on it and know its not junk mail but something nice just for you. We thought that this would be a great way to show our appreciation to those that are fighting for our country” says Amy Henry Centola, co-owner of Two Sprouts.
In addition to the card donation to Soldiers’ Angels, Two Sprouts is also active in writing to soldiers that are deployed or to their families back home. “We have all of this stationery and cards at our disposal, we figured we could send an encouraging note here or there to make someone’s day.” says Erica Adams, co-owner of Two Sprouts.
Two Sprouts, now celebrating their third holiday season unveils their 3 new holiday cards. Each with their own New Orleans flair, this may be the most promising yet.
The holiday line, hand illustrated by co-owner Amy Henry Centola, depicts traditional holiday themes with a New Orleans twist. Examples are a streetcar bringing home a Christmas tree, a New Orleans version of cookies and milk and a festive spin on evacuation.
“We had a lot of fun concepting the holiday cards for this year. The evacuation / celebration holiday card is by far our favorite. It really captures the essence of finding humor out of a stressful situation. It truly is a holiday card for all New Orleanians.” says Adams.
The duo has also grown and expanded into a children’s clothing line. All designs focus on New Orleans and how it might pertain to children. From Mardi Gras to Jazz Fest, Two Sprouts has you clothed.
In addition to the holiday cards, Two Sprouts New Orleans Collection or our long list notepads are perfect holiday gifts or stocking stuffers. The New Orleans line illustrates items or scenes from New Orleans that are beloved and revered.
